Every successful team in world football has a backbone in the team, the number 6. Mohun Bagan is not an exception either as they have a certain Carl McHugh in their ranks, but McHugh is now in the final year of his deal, and signing an extension is unlikely as of now. Mohun Bagan is scouting multiple players whom they can sign in the future years and a certain Aussie Connor Metcalfe have caught their eye. As Joni Kauko's return date is yet to be known, Mohun Bagan is in search for a midifielder from foreign leagues. Management is looking for a profile who can play the Kauko role short term and eventually replace Carl McHugh in the squad. It seems Mohun Bagan have found a perfect profile for that role as they have held initial discussions with the agents of Aiden O'Neill. O'Neill had started his professional career for then English Premiere League side Burnley, where he made his debut against Liverpool in 2016. He couldn't make a name in EPL but he has plenty of experience in English league as he played two seasons for Oldham and Fleetwood Town. In 2018 he moved to A-League on loan, where he joined Central Coast Mariners(current club for Jason Cummings) and later joined the current A-League champions Melbourne City, where he has thrived in a midifield role. Mohun Bagan looks like to have won the race for Jason Cummings. As per reliable sources the Mohun Bagan management have chased the signature of the Australian worldcupper for past 2 years. As we exclusively broke the news of Jason Cummings interest on 4th of April last month in our Facebook page; quickly the news was confirmed by xtratime Bangla and other reliable journalists.   It was widely reported Mohun Bagan has reached advanced talks with Cummings on 10th of April but still the deal was pending as Jason was focusing on his ongoing season with Central coast Mariners. After chasing the signature for almost 2 months,it can be said Mohun Bagan has verbaly agreed the deal with Cummings, but the player is yet to sign the contract. Jason has helped Central coast mariners to reach their first Australian League play-off this season scoring 16 goals in the league, and he has already scored in the first leg semi final against Adelaide United to help his team winning

২০শে নভেম্বর, ২০২০ ধরুন আপনি একজন বাঙ্গালী আর সাথে ফুটবল ফ্যান। ছোটো থেকেই লাঞ্চে ভাত-মাছ, সোম-শনি স্কুল, রবিবারে সকালে টিভির পর্দায় কার্টুন আর মোহনবাগান আপনার প্রাত্যহিক রুটিন-ই হয়ে যাওয়া উচিত। আর ফুটবল ফ্যান মানে ছোটোবেলায় হয়তো কখনোবা ভেবেছেন, একদিন আমিও প্রিয় দলের জার্সি গায়ে মাঠে নামবো, দলকে জেতাবো।  তবে এটা আমাদের অধিকাংশের কাছেই ভাবনা হয়ে থাকলেও কয়েকজনের তাগিদ তাদের স্বপ্ন টা কে বাস্তবায়িত করে।  প্রীতম কোটাল! ছোটো থেকেই মোহনবাগান সমর্থক, সেকথা নিজে বেশ কয়েকবার ইন্টারভিউ-তে বলেছেনও। প্রীতমের বাড়ির দেওয়ালে সবুজ মেরুন স্কার্ফ শোভা পেতো আমাদের সাধারন সমর্থকদের মতোই। প্রোফেশনাল কেরিয়ারে প্রতিষ্ঠা পাওয়াও মোহনবাগানে খেলেই। প্রতিশ্রুতিমান বাঙ্গালী রাইট ব্যাক থেকে দেশের হয়ে ওই পজিশনে এক নম্বর হয়ে ওঠার পথে প্রীতম মোহনবাগানের হয়ে জিতেছিলেন ১টা আইলীগ আর ফেড কাপ।  তারপর কেরিয়ারে মধ্যগগনে প্রীতম অন্য অনেক প্রথম সারির ভারতীয় ফুটবলারের মতোই আইলীগ ছেড়ে চলে যান আইএসএল-এ। ছিন্ন হয় প্রীতমের সাথে মোহনবাগানের সম্পর্ক-ও।  এর প্রায় ২-৩ বছর পর আজ মোহনবাগান স্বমহিমায় নিজেদের যাত্রা

১০ই সেপ্টেম্বর, ২০১৯ আলেহান্দ্রো মেনেন্দেস গার্সিয়া, ইস্টবেঙ্গল সমর্থকেরা আদর করে ডাকেন আলে স্যার বলে। আর রাইভাল ক্লাব হওয়ার দরুন আমরাও মক করি ওনাকে আলে ষাঁড় বলে।  কিন্তু নিরপেক্ষ দিক থেকে দেখতে গেলে স্পেনের এই ভদ্রলোকের মাপের কোচ ভারতীয় ফুটবলে খুব কম এসেছেন। একটা দলকে একটা কর্পোরেট সংস্থা পেশাদারিত্ব'র সাথে পরিচালনা করলে কী হতে পারে তা কোয়েস দেখিয়ে দিয়েছিল গতবছর। ভারতীয় ফুটবলে সদ্য বিশ্বকাপ খেলা কোনো ফুটবলার আসতে পারেন, এটা যখন সবার ধারনার বাইরে ছিলো তখন কোয়েসের হাত ধরে এসেছিলেন জনি অ্যাকোস্টা।  আর কোচ হিসেবে এতো বড়ো মাপের কেউ ভারতীয় ফুটবলে আসবেন সেটা কেউ কক্ষনোও কল্পনা'ও করেনি। কিন্তু রিয়াল মাদ্রিদের ইউথ সিস্টেমে কাজ করার পর রিয়াল মাদ্রিদ বি ( Castilla) দলের হেড কোচ হয়ে কাজ করা এই ভদ্রলোককে ভারতীয় ফুটবলে এনে চমক দেন কোয়েস কর্তারা। ভদ্রলোক ভারতীয় ফুটবলে কতটা মানিয়ে নেবেন তা নিয়ে যখন সন্দেহ ছিলো, তখন সেই দলের'ই ফিটনেসে অসম্ভব উন্নতি ঘটিয়ে মানের দিক থেকে একটা মিডিওকার দলকে এই আলেহান্দ্রো শেষ ল্যাপ অবধি রেখেছিলেন আই লীগ জেতার দৌড়ে। মাত্র এক পয়েন্ট'এর

২৯শে জুলাই, ২০২০ শেষ প্রায় ৫মাস ধরে আমরা ঘরবন্দী। দৈনন্দিন কাজের পর ফ্রাস্ট্রেশান আসাটা স্বাভাবিক। ফ্রাস্ট্রেশান থেকে অনেক ক্ষেত্রে ডিপ্রেশান'ও আসে। আর ডিপ্রেসান যে কতটা ভয়াবহ আকার নিতে পারে তা সাম্প্রতিক অতীতে বারংবার দেখা গেছে। তবে আমাদের একটা ফুটবল খেলা আছে, যেটা নিমেষে সব ডিপ্রেশান কে উধাও করে দেয়। সারাদিনের busy schedule এর পরে একটা টানটান ৯০' এর ফুটবল ম্যাচ, প্রিয় দলের জয়, মনটা কে এক মুহুর্তে ফুরফুরে করে দেয়। মাঝেমাঝেই ভাবি, ফুটবল টা না থাকলে হতোটা কি!  তা, এই ফুটবল খেলাটাই যে exist করে, সেটা জানতামই না মোহনবাগান না থাকলে। আমার পরিবার সূত্রে আমিও মোহনবাগানী, ব্যাপারটা মোটেও এরম নয়। ছোটো থেকেই প্রিয় খেলা ক্রিকেট, আর দৈনন্দিন রুটিন ছিলো খবরের কাগজের খেলার পাতাটা আগে পড়া।ছোটোবেলায় ক্রিকেটের খবর পড়তে পড়তে ব্যারেটো, সংগ্রাম, বাইচুং দের নাম শুনে কবে যে মোহনবাগানের ফ্যান হয়ে গেছিলাম , এখন আর মনে পড়েনা। তারপর থেকে আসতে আসতে ক্রিকেট আর মোহনবাগান ছাড়া কিছুই মাথায় ঢুকতো না সেভাবে। কখনো কাগজে পড়ে , কখনো বা কলকাতা টিভি বা জি টিভি তে খেলা দেখে মোহনবাগানের সাথে আসতে আস

২৮শে এপ্রিল, ২০২০ ১৯-২০ সিজনের টীম তখন সবে তৈরী হচ্ছে, কিবু ভিকুনা হেড কোচ হিসেবে এসেছেন। টীমের প্রত্যেকটা পজিশনেই আই লীগ মানের ভালো প্লেয়ার রিক্রুট করা হয়েছে, কিন্তু ডিফেন্সিভ মিডফিল্ডে একমাত্র ফ্র্যান গঞ্জালেস ছাড়া ভরসা জোগানোর কেউ নেই!  নাহ, নেই বলা ভুল, ওই পজিশনে গঞ্জাদার একমাত্র ব্যাক আপ শিলটন ডি সিলভা। তাই মরসুমের শুরুতে কিছুটা চিন্তা হচ্ছিলো বইকি।  সেই সময়ই কিবুদার হাত ধরে ট্রায়ালে সিনিয়র টীমে সুযোগ পেলো জি বাংলা লীগে অসাধারন খেলা চার ইয়ং ফুটবলার। তার মধ্যেই একজন, সেন্ট্রাল ব্যাকে ভরসা জোগানো শেখ সাহিল।  এরপর মরসুমের প্রথম ম্যাচ, ডুরান্ডে মোহামেডানের বিরুদ্ধে। অনেক চেনা তারকার ভিড়ে টীম লিস্টে একটাই অচেনা নাম, শেখ সাহিল। ম্যাচ শুরু হতে আরেকটু চমকে যাওয়ার পালা, সাহিল সেন্ট্রাল ব্যাকে না, বরং খেলছেন ডিফেন্সিভ মিডিও হিসেবে! এরপর আর ফিরে তাকাতে হয়নি সাহিলকে। ওই ম্যাচেই মোহনবাগান ঝলক দেখিয়েছিলো, কিবুর হাতে পড়ে কেমন ফুটবল তারা এই সিজনে উপহার দিতে চলেছে। সাথে বছর ১৮র একটা ছেলেও কিবুর জহুরীর চোখের প্রমান দিয়েছিলো মাঝমাঠে তার পাসিং এক্যুরেসি এবং খেলার টেম্পো কন্ট্রোলের ক্ষমতা

৩রা মে, ২০২০: সময়টা আগের বছরের মে মাস। আগের সিজনে জঘন্য পারফরমেন্স, যা মোটেও মোহনবাগান সুলভ নয়! তাই কর্তাদের চ্যালেঞ্জ ছিলো এবারে একটা স্বপ্নের সিজন উপহার দেওয়ার। ২০১৪-১৫র আই লীগ জেতা মরসুম থেকে ২০১৭-১৮য় শঙ্করলালের হাত ধরে লীগে অবিশ্বাস্য প্রত্যাবর্তনে প্রায় লীগ জিতে ফেলা! ২০১৮-১৯ সিজনটায় অনেক স্বপ্ন নিয়ে শুরু করেও রীতিমত মুখ থুবড়ে পড়া, আর পড়শী ক্লাবে স্প্যানিশ জামানার শুরু.. এতো কিছুর পরে ২০১৯-২০তে কর্তাদের ভালো কিছু উপহার দিতেই হতো। গতবছরে এপ্রিল-মে থেকেই গুঞ্জন চলছিলো, বাগানে এবার আবার বিদেশী কোচ আসবে। কেউ করিম চাচা বা কেউ অ্যাশলে ওয়েস্টউড বা কেউ আবার কাশ্মীরের রবার্টসনের নাম ভাসাচ্ছিলেন। এমন সময়ই ১১মে অফিশিয়াল সাইটে ঘোষনা হলো, মোহনবাগানের নতুন কোচ পোলিশ লিগের পরিচিত মুখ জোসে অ্যান্তোনিও ভিকুনা ওচান্দ্রেনা ওরফে কিবু ভিকুনা। অর্থাৎ বাগানে স্প্যানিশ যুগের সূচনা। কিবু ভিকুনা নামটা তখন এক্কেবারে অপিরিচিত, একমাত্র ইন্টারনেট-ই সম্বল কিছু জানার জন্য। সেই ইন্টারনেটেই বায়ো দেখলাম, ভদ্রলোক লা লীগার ক্লাব ওসাসুনার ইউথ টীমে বেশ কিছুদিন ছিলেন, তারপর থেকে অধিকাংশ ক্লাবেই

  প্রথমেই বলে দিই, মতামত আমার একান্তই ব্যক্তিগত; কাউকে কিছু চাপিয়ে দেওয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে এই পোস্ট নয়। ২০২০ সালে যেদিন মার্জারটা অ্যানাউন্স হয়েছিলো, সেদিন খুব খারাপ লেগেছিলো। প্রথম ১-২ দিন মার্জারটা কে মানতেই পারিনি; কিন্তু ঠান্ডা মাথায় ভেবেছিলাম এটিকে এবং সঞ্জীব গোয়েঙ্কার মতো একজন ক্লাবে এলে মোহনবাগানের জন্য ভালো কি কি হতে পারে! ভেবে দেখেছিলাম খারাপের থেকে ভালোর সংখ্যাটা অনেক বেশি, আর তাই তখন থেকেই মনকে মানানোর লড়াই শুরু করেছিলাম। মেনে নিয়েছলাম এটিকেএমবি'ই মোহনবাগান। প্রথম প্রথম এটিকে মোহনবাগান সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় অনেক বিতর্ক তৈরি করেছিলো। সেগুলো নিয়ে ক্রমাগত লড়াই চলেছে ওদের পেজগুলোয় গিয়ে ( যেখানে এই গ্রুপের একটা বড়ো অবদান ছিলো)। লড়াই করে #JoyMohunBagan হ্যাশট্যাগ চালু করা থেকে সবুজ মেরুন জার্সি উন্মোচন; কেরালা লোটাদের হারানো থেকে জেএফসি'র কাছে পয়েন্ট ড্রপ করা; সবকিছুতেই সেলিব্রেট করেছিলাম দলটাকে মোহনবাগান ভেবে। কিন্তু উৎসব পারেখের মতো কিছু চু তিয়া আর ম্যানেজমেন্টের বেশ কিছু সিদ্ধান্ত ( কালো জার্সি) আমার নিজের সিদ্ধান্ত বদলে দিয়েছিলো। খেলা চালুর আগে থেকেই ট্যুইটারে ন
